Who We Are

ACORN is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community organization based in Middlebury. Its mission is to promote the growth and health of local food and agriculture in the Champlain Valley by providing support to our farmers and food producers, engaging in food education and ensuring access to healthy food for all members of our community.

What We Do

ACORN was founded with the mission to help revitalize the health of our land, our local economy, and our local communities so they can provide sustainable sources of food, water, energy, employment, and capital while promoting conservation and a healthy environment. ACORN runs a variety of programs and services focused on promoting the growth and health of local food and agriculture in Vermont’s Southern Champlain Valley. These programs include the ACORN Food Hub, grower meetings, the Champlain Valley Local Food and Farm Guide, Farm-to-School education, and the Addison County Farmacy Program.
