Addison County Unit for Special Investigations & Child Advocacy Center

What We Do

The Addison County Unit for Special Investigations & Child Advocacy Center Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) provides a safe, child-centered environment for children and families impacted by suspected abuse and other crimes against children. The CAC brings together law enforcement, child protection, prosecutors, medical and mental health professionals, and victim advocates through a coordinated multidisciplinary response designed to reduce trauma and support the child’s safety and well-being. Services include developmentally appropriate forensic interviews, advocacy and support for children and caregivers, referrals to medical and mental health services, case coordination, and collaboration with investigative partners. In addition to responding to abuse, the CAC works to strengthen the community through prevention education, professional training, public awareness, and partnerships that promote the safety and well-being of children and families throughout Addison County.
