Who We Are
For over 40 years HomeShare Vermont has been helping Vermonters safely share their homes. We do so by providing the security of a through vetting process and conscientious case management.
Our goal is for Vermonters to have more affordable housing choices as they age and their needs increase while providing more affordable housing to serve an overwhelming need in our community.
HomeShare Vermont serves Chittenden, Addison, Franklin, Grand Isle, Lamoille, Washington, Orange and Windsor Counties.
What We Do
HomeShare Vermont is all about people helping each other. Our matching and screening service allows Vermonters to remain in their homes longer despite any challenges or difficulties they might face. Each compatible homesharing “match” we arrange is unique and based upon the needs, interests, and lifestyles of the individuals involved. Guests often provide several hours of service to their hosts in exchange for more affordable rent, often a fraction of the market rent for their area. This might include transportation, meal support, housekeeping or home maintenance or just a safe presence in the home. HomeShare handles all the background and reference checks, vets all applicants, helps build a match agreement and continues to check in after the match is established.
